Why I Am Running
I am K.S. Bhaskar, Democrat running from District 3 (West) for Tredyffrin Township Board of Supervisors. A long-time resident of Tredyffrin, I care about our quality of life, seeking to preserve and improve it. An engineer, entrepreneur, and a local small software business owner & operator, I know that change brings both opportunity and challenge.
Democracies work best with citizen involvement. I am engaged with the community and believe that responsible & balanced local government is critical to our future success. I am running for the Board of Supervisors as a way of giving back to the Tredyffrin community.
Who I Am
Born in India, I came to the US as a graduate student in 1975 with a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. I have earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington, Seattle. Naturalized in 1994, I have visited 44 states, and lived in six. Tredyffrin has been home for over twenty years.
With our three sons, my wife Jayashree and I relocated to the area in 1998 as part of a corporate acquisition. We chose Tredyffrin for the excellent reputation of our schools and are the proud parents of three Conestoga High School graduates.
In 2017, I left my position at a Fortune 500 multinational, and founded a local software startup, YottaDB.
Why Vote For Me
As an engineer developing mission-critical technology, I have strong problem-solving skills and the understanding of what it takes to make things that must not fail. As a small business owner and operator, and from my turnaround experience, I have learned to temper idealism with pragmatism.
A technologist and leader for over forty years, I was on the management team of three successful business turnarounds, two of which were swimming in red ink when I joined.
As a Supervisor, I will strive to seek the balance to retain our quality of life, to work with the community and stakeholders to find creative solutions to our needs, and maintain cooperation between the township and our school system. I believe in:
I am running to preserve and improve Tredyffrin’s quality of life.
